Embarking on a mission to capture the essence of a Malay Kampung for an international exhibition, our team delved into this vibrant cultural microcosm. Through research and immersion, we absorbed its rich tapestry, conversing with elders and witnessing the community's spirit firsthand. This exploration birthed two narratives:

Concentrically: Stepping into the bustling marketplace, visitors are enveloped by its sensory feast. Moving deeper, they encounter the warmth of homes and a sun-dappled courtyard, mirroring the close-knit nature of kampung life.

Linearly: Following the river's path, visitors witness the dynamic rhythm of daily life – children playing, elders weaving, and conversations flowing. This path celebrates the kampung's vibrant soul, revealing a new facet with each bend.

Using poetic architecture, we translate these narratives. Elevated platforms become stages, light filters through screens, and hidden nooks offer quiet contemplation. Modifiable elements invite personalization, making visitors active participants in the story.

This structure aspires to be a portal, transporting visitors to the heart of the Malay Kampung. We aim to leave a lasting impression, not just of a romanticized past, but of the enduring spirit that defines this cultural treasure.
