TASK
TASK
Watch the movie, Inside and Out and create a space for one of the characters. The space for clients should be based on their characteristics, traits behavioural actions and habits based on the students' findings. From the knowledge of projects 1 and 2, it should be displayed in this final assignment. Using regular and irregular geometry shapes. Making 2 mock-up models on a scale of 1:200, a final model in a scale of 1:100 and creating a presentation board of 2 A2 paper.
PROGRESS
PROGRESS
I was chosen to design a space for the character, Sadness.
Making a mind map to study on Sadness behaviour which are to be implemented into her space later on in the assignment
Bubble diagram is based on how you would feel when you are sad.
I designed these places as how i imagined how these stages would feel such as the sleeping area i imagine curves to portray waves as wave can be calming.
This is a lift for Sadness space inspired by the sucking tube in the movie, it is wrapped in a bubble ribbon to represent the sense of security for sadness to emphasise that she is allowed to be herself in her own space.
Materials Used:
- satay sticks
- paper
- mounting board
- paint
- pearl beads
- paper ribbon
MOCK-UP 1
Each space has different designs.
Chosen space:
Sleep & Rest (B)
Think & Express (B)
Cry (B)
Seeing Favourite Memories (A)
Isolate & Hide (A)
As I didn't know h0w to do a proper axonometric drawing I traced over the drawing.
Elevation Drawing
1:200 scale
FRONT ELEVATION
LEFT ELEVATION
RIGHT ELEVATION
BACK ELEVATION
I started with making the spaces from the bottom to the top of the model, I added details to the spaces and then made the second level including the structure to hold it up and make the lift. Next, I start building the structure for the third level and making the left. Lastly, I assembled the crying, seeing memories and isolate areas together. The shade on the left was additional.
MOCK-UP 2
My traced axonometric drawing
Changes to the mock-up 2
Elevation Drawing
1: 200 scale
FRONT ELEVATION
LEFT ELEVATION
RIGHT ELEVATION
BACK ELEVATION
The process is similar to the first mock-up starting from the bottom to the top and adding structure and decoration last.
FINAL MODEL
My axonometric drawing with humans and trees.
Plan on what the final model will look like.
Elevation Drawing
1: 100 scale
The process is similar to the mock-ups starting from the bottom to the top and adding structure and decoration last.
FRONT ELEVATION
Spaces made first then lift, structure, additional decoration and base

CITIZENSHIP AND GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES
I am able to adapt to my lecturer's feedback and suggestion to improve and add more to my drawings. I have learned how to add life to my drawings and identify the characteristics of a person to require their needs to make them a space.
THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS
At first, I had no idea how to start my sketch for the models, so I asked my friends how they get inspired. With the information they gave me, I took it upon myself and went online to search for ideas. I also didn't know how I was going to draw an elevation but I managed to try my best to draw them and it turned out really well.
DIGITAL LITERACY
With the help of the internet, I was able to go on Pinterest to find many images for the spaces and I was able to search up about the character's personality.
