TASK
In a group of 5, make an A2 landscape divided into 2 pages
content included:
Task A- Do a case study research on 1 existing public space anywhere in the world which was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Find more about the intervention of public spaces to understand more about the tangible and intangible elements or components in public space.
Task B- Choose a spot in Taylor's University as a public intervention and create ideas for the space for it to be utilised during the COVID-19 pandemic
PROGRESS
PART A
We had many public spaces to choose from, these were some:
1. The Galleria
2. Trafalgar Square
3. Moscow Metro
4. Central Terminal
5. Cheonggye plaza
But there were few problems for us across these places, in the end, we went with Bourbon street.
As our lecturer looked at the place we chose she said just to do a small part of the place as this place is too big to do one whole row. From the street, we choose an intersection where most events happen,
Choosen Public Space: 300 BOURBON STREET
We chose a space where there is a lot of events usually takes place.
As usual, for group work we segregated the tasks and if anyone needed help we were there to help too.
We gave our lecturer to see our progress on how we should improve our page. We realised too that we needed to add more icons to make the infographic more appealing and fun to read for people. We changed the parts that we needed to improve quickly.
PART B
We chose a spot in the campus where it could be linked to our case studies since the space we choose an eatery area near the sidewalks
Segregated our task:
Chosen Intervention Space: Commercial Walkway
One of our many discussions on the intervention ideas
Most of the intervention ideas were suggested by me
Discussions on how we can make the seating be social distance
This was our last time checking if the work is correct and everyone witnessing the submission of the assignment.
OUTCOME
REFLECTION
CITIZENSHIP AND GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES
In order to improve our canva pages we gave our progress to the lecturer and our intervention ideas so she can see how we can improve our work. Such as telling us to give icons to the poster and better ideas for the intervention space. As for my members, we would give more suggestions on how we can make social distance more exciting for the intervention.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
As we have worked together it was easy to have an easy-going conversation as everyone is alert. As for being part of the leader I usually make sure that everyone is doing their work. During meetings we would discuss how we can improve our intervention space
THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS
At first we were clueless about what public space to choose from, but the main focus was if they had enough information on how they handled the COVID 19 pandemic but thankfully we found one. We thought how practical and fun the intervention we made is for the area of intervention.
