TASK
Imagine bringing your FNBE friends to your township/city by creating a travel guide pamphlet with the title 'Welcome to my hometown (town ship/city) ' . Create your own travel guide pamphlet as the host of your township/city as a info-pack with the infographic poster format. Choose a township/city and include the macro and micro study of the place and suggest ways to develop the township/city.
PROGRESS
I AM FROM KUCHING, SARAWAK, MALAYSIA.
I started planning digitally for the placement of the pamphlet including the pictures and some descriptions.
These were what I was doing and how I felt while doing this assignment.
I am actually finally learning about my city.
My friend is accompanying me while she does her own work. (why is she still awake? she lives in Germany)
I just enjoy doing work at night because it's very peaceful.
Me getting tired of the work like any other assignment and tracing my pictures with the bright light can sometimes hurt because I was staring at it for too long.
The mess I created while doing the assignment with the pens everywhere across the table
Watching one of my favourite podcast to keep me accompanied, relax and awake throughout doing the assignments
This was a fun assignment with so many ups and downs and being satisfied and not satisfied while doing the pamphlet.
OUTCOME
REFLECTION
LIFELONG LEARNING
I got to learn independently more about the city I live in since I didn't know much about it before and tried to organize the placement of the pamphlet. Since it was hard to find information on Sarawak I had to carefully extract the information for it to be applied into the making of my pamphlet.
DIGITAL LITERACY
As I've mentioned previously, I had to look for information online carefully in case I missed out on information that could be applied to the pamphlet. There was a website on an in-depth version of the Sarawak map and I experimented with different functions to see what I want to use for the pamphlet. I have overcome this TGC by finding the right information with limited resources on Kuching.
THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS
I had a problem with the flow of the pamphlet and I slowly observe and manage to organise it. I tried creatively thinking about how do I make the poster an infographic style. I will definitely use this TGC to overcome problems such as designing posters and finding quality information.
